Welcome to ThirstyKrollDogs.com, a community action effort and special place for Friends of Bakersfield's Kroll Dog Park! The mission of this initiative is to help organize supporters and raise funds for the express purpose of having a dedicated water fountain for dogs installed inside Kroll Dog Park as soon as possible.

Most other off-leash dog park facilities throughout our community have such water fountains already installed inside of them, which is a tremendous convenience and welcome addition to the dog park.

Kroll Dog Park is one of the largest, and most popular off-leash dog parks in Bakersfield, yet has no convenient access inside the park for its very thirsty canine visitors to consume a much-needed drink!

Many citizens have requested such a fountain from Bakersfield city officials, and are consistently advised that there are no available funds to provide this amenity.

Fortunately, the city parks dept. is open to installing such a fountain should it receive the necessary funding to provide the materials, labor, and anything else necessary to install the fountain. Park leaders estimate approximately $6,000.00 should be ample to cover all such costs for this undertaking. A similar effort was recently undertaken at University Dog Park in East Bakersfield with very positive results--the fountain there is 100% installed and working well. Additionally, the fountain provides fresh clean water to human visitors too!!!

This way, the cycle of compassion and goodwill continues indefinitely.
